INSTRUCTIONS
1. Go to this link, http://www.beaconlearningcenter.com/WebLessons/DidIRead/info01.htm and and read about Carson's problems when reading.
2. Read about Explicit and Implicit information.
3. As you read, work actively all the questions they ask you about the reading.
4. When you have finished, go to read about the body system you most like.
Running, jumping, and riding your bike all require your leg bones to move. What makes these bones move? Bones can't move themselves. That is the job of the striated muscles.
Striated muscles are also called skeletal muscles since their job is to move the skeleton. They are part of the muscular system. The word striated means striped. It comes from the light and dark muscle tissue that makes striated muscles look striped.
Striated muscles are attached to bones by tissues called tendons. Tendons are like stretchy cords that move as the muscle moves causing the bone to move also. Our striated muscles and tendons work as a team to move the bones of our skeleton.
